Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in compliance, risk management, sustainability, supplier responsibility, or human rights.
  • Experience with human rights, supplier responsibility, or responsible minerals regulations.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience leading efforts to publish human rights or responsible minerals regulatory reports.
  • Experience working with and influencing teams in adjacent organizations, executive leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Track record of landing large, complex, and multi-stakeholder programs, publishing conflict minerals or human rights-related regulatory reports requiring cross-functional collaboration and sign off.
  • Proven ability to adapt in a constantly evolving environment and deliver high-quality work with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership and program management skills with the ability to communicate and drive change across the organization, and influence without authority.

About the job
As the Responsible Minerals and Human Rights Compliance Regulatory Reporting Specialist, you will play a critical role in advancing our Responsible Minerals Program strategy, executing key initiatives across Alphabet and Google, and managing conflict minerals, anti-modern slavery, and human rights compliance and regulatory reporting obligations. You will work with a cross-functional set of stakeholders across Alphabet, including teams embedded in product areas responsible for operationalizing supplier responsibility and responsible minerals program efforts. You have a multidisciplinary skillset, program and project management experience, regulatory reporting experience, great business acumen, and a passion for ethics and integrity.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $136000 - $197000 (USD) 15% bonus target bonus equity benefits

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Responsible Minerals program by establishing core processes, conducting gap analyses, and driving continuous program improvements and adoption across the enterprise.
  • Manage annual scoping for global regulations across Alphabet and Google, including the Dodd-Frank Act, EU Conflict Minerals and Battery Regulations, and anti-modern slavery and human rights due diligence laws.
  • Manage the drafting and publication of mandatory annual disclosures, such as the Alphabet Conflict Minerals Report, Statement Against Modern Slavery and the Norwegian Transparency Act Statement.
  • Conduct annual risk analyses required by human rights laws, and assist with reviewing, developing, and documenting internal policies and procedures to align with the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive.
  • Partner with product area and functional teams to prioritize requirements, influence strategic roadmaps, and ensure responsible minerals and human rights regulatory requirements are integrated into business operations.
