Job Description:


The Part-Time Assistant Basketball Coach provides on-court, operational, and instructional support to the intercollegiate basketball program during the competitive season. This position focuses primarily on student-athlete development, daily practice execution, game-day preparation, and strategy implementation. This is a non-recruiting, seasonal role tailored to active team operations. This position contributes to the College's mission by fostering a diverse, inclusive, and supportive environment that empowers student-athletes to grow as individuals, competitors, and leaders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • On-Court Coaching & Practice Execution: Assist the head coach in organizing, planning, and conducting daily practices, including executing training programs and skill development for assigned positional groups.

  • Game Preparation & In-Game Management: Support the head coach in developing game strategies, preparing scouting briefs, and managing bench strategy and adjustments during contests.

  • In-Season Team Operations: Attend and support team needs at all in-season practices, team meetings, and contests (both home and away).

  • Student-Athlete Development: Create an inclusive team environment that fosters a positive culture of health, well-being, and safety, allowing student-athletes to grow as students, athletes, leaders, and individuals.

  • Cultural Alignment: Support and execute the head coach's vision, philosophy, and strategic plan by consistently reinforcing the team's cultural standards.

  • Other Duties: Perform additional in-season, team-focused duties as assigned by the head coach.

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS

  • Collegiate coaching

  • The ability to foster positive relationships with student-athletes and promote a positive team culture at a competitive liberal arts college with highly selective academic standards.

  • Member of the NEWMAC and NCAA Division III.

  • CPR/AED certification

  • Valid drivers license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MA/MS
