Aspirus Health in WAUSAU, WI is seeking a GOVERNMENT RELATIONS SPECIALIST to join our LEGAL team!
The Government Relations Specialist supports the health system's advocacy and public policy efforts at the local, state, and federal levels. Working closely with the Director - System Government Relations, this role provides policy analysis, develops briefing materials, and coordinates advocacy activities, stakeholder engagement, and related communications across a multi-state environment. Collaborating with internal teams and external partners, the Specialist ensures accurate information, operational coordination, and compliance support to inform leadership decision-making and advance organizational priorities.
HOURS: Full Time, 1.0 FTE, 80 hours every two weeks
Experience/Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in political science, public policy, healthcare administration, or related field required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in government relations, public policy, healthcare, or legislative affairs.
  • Experience with state or federal legislative processes preferred.
  • Healthcare policy experience preferred.
  • Strong research, analytical and writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to travel as needed for meetings and events.
  • Annual competencies as required by Aspirus and/or various regulatory agencies based on entity and/or job position.
