Position Summary

The Demand Planner is an experienced planning professional responsible for independently managing the demand planning process for assigned customers, programs, and plants. This role owns forecast development, leads demand reviews and S&OP activities, drives forecast accuracy improvements, and partners cross-functionally to align customer demand with operational capacity. The position serves as a key resource for planning decisions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Develop and own short, medium, and long-term demand forecasts for assigned customers and plants.
  • Utilize statistical forecasting models, trend analysis, and market intelligence to improve forecast reliability.
  • Analyze complex demand patterns and provide recommendations to support business decisions.
  • Lead monthly S&OP meetings for assigned locations and present demand assumptions, risks, and opportunities.
  • Monitor and manage forecast accuracy metrics (MAPE, Bias) and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Supply Planning, and Customer Service to align demand and capacity.
  • Identify emerging demand risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Lead customer demand reviews, including program launches, ramp-ups, transitions, and end-of-life management.
  • Manage forecasting activities for new business awards and growth opportunities.
  • Act as the planning subject matter expert for assigned customers and product lines.
  • Drive process improvements within SAP, Fiori, forecasting platforms, and planning workflows.
  • Mentor less experienced planners and support planning best practices.
  • Lead special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in Demand Planning or related Supply Chain functions.
  • Experience with SAP, SAP Fiori, SAP APO, SAP IBP, DynaSys, or similar planning systems.
  • Automotive manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience participating in or leading S&OP processes preferred.
Skills
  • Advanced demand planning and forecasting expertise.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SAP/Fiori with the ability to analyze data, troubleshoot issues, and support process improvements.
  • Strong understanding of S&OP and integrated supply chain planning.
  • Advanced analytical, statistical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Excellent business acumen and end-to-end supply chain understanding.
