Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for a Universal Banker II at our Munster Banking Center.

Job Summary

Provide prompt, efficient and friendly service to ensure an excellent customer experience to all customers and employees. Acknowledges customers' needs with suggestions and referrals of appropriate Bank products and services. Perform all tasks accurately and efficiently while remaining in compliance with the established Bank policies and procedures. These individuals will need to be outgoing, sales oriented, flexible, adaptable and results driven. They must demonstrate the ability to work independently and with a team, make sound decisions and use critical thinking skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs all UB I duties at a proficient level including, but not limited to the following items:
    • Processes all teller line transactions at a proficient level; including but not limited to accepting deposits and loan payments, verifying cash and endorsements, cashing checks, issuing official checks and potentially including providing overrides and approvals
    • Counts and balances the cash drawer daily, taking proactive steps to identify and resolve discrepancies when the balance is off
    • Follows BSA/AML/OFAC policies and/or procedures to report any suspicious activity
    • Always maintain integrity, including keeping all Bank business and information confidential
  • Opens new accounts for customers accurately and efficiently
  • Handles more complex customer inquiries and requests
  • Demonstrates strong sales skills. Routinely seeks to refer additional products when appropriate and documents referrals in Salesforce (includes referrals to other lines of business)
  • Moves seamlessly through the banking center acting in a variety of roles as necessary
  • Adapts easily to meet all needs
  • Participates in Bank and Team activities
  • May seek additional responsibilities such as internal committee involvement or corporate initiatives
  • May serve as backup to manager in their absence
  • May possess ability to effectively mentor others

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • One year of retail banking experience required
  • Six months of new account experience required
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Must have smartphone (iOS or Android) that is able to support security features required by the Bank's IT security guidelines
