In aviation, roles such as aircraft maintenance technician, airport ground staff, baggage handler, and aircraft cleaner typically do not require a college degree. These jobs often require on-the-job training, certifications like a FAA Airframe and Powerplant license for technicians, and relevant safety or operational skills. Entry-level positions in customer service or ramp operations are also accessible without a degree.

Can you get into aviation without a degree?

Many entry-level aviation jobs, such as aircraft maintenance technicians, flight attendants, and ground crew roles, do not require a college degree. Instead, they often require specialized training, certifications, or licenses, such as a FAA certification for technicians or a flight attendant training program. Experience, skills, and relevant certifications are typically more important than a degree for these positions.
