Job description

Sun Tran is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee financial management systems and supervise the accounting team. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, manages personnel, analyzes accounts and completes special projects. This position is located at our Northwest Administrative Office at 3910 North Sun Tran Boulevard, Tucson, AZ 85705.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Supervise accounting staff: review work, provide training, maintain checks and balances, conduct evaluations.
  • Manage financial systems: prepare journal entries, balance accounts, assist with budget reporting, and maintain schedules.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly operational and financial reports.
  • Analyze problem accounts and expenditures, researching issues, and presenting solutions.
  • Support special projects including year-end reports, budget analysis, and intergovernmental agreement billing.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience with supervisory responsibilities.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Public-sector or government accounting experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial reporting and budgeting systems
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
