Job description


Position Overview: 


The Import/Export Specialist is responsible for the international shipment management, document compliance, and accuracy for the company’s inbound into the United States. This role is knowledgeable in import compliance functions and works with import service providers to ensure speed and compliance of imported products for Entrust Corporation.

The Import/Export Specialist will follow the company’s international trade compliance policies, global logistics policy, and quality initiatives in all activities. The position will perform the responsibilities detailed below and other duties and projects as assigned.



Responsibilities:                                                                                  

  • Ensure 100% compliance with all US import rules and regulations and Entrust’s global locations.
  • Partners with Entrust import customs brokers to ensure timely, accurate and compliant import clearance.
  • Responsible for the function of researching products for proper classifying and duty determination, assessing for ADD/CVD, auditing country of origin, valuation, and recordkeeping.
  • Complete technology, hardware, and software trade classification, including Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS).
  • Audits all aspects of import transactions, communicates findings, and builds corrective action plans.
  • Consults with customer service, transportation, warehouse operations, freight forwarders, and couriers to ensure on-time and accurate import deliveries.        
  • Complete Denied Party Screening with internal systems.
  • Partner with external consultants on internal duty programs.
  • Ensure compliance with government and corporate recordkeeping and retention guidelines.
  • Processes the gathering, filing and retrieval of import documentation to ensure Entrust meets US Customs regulations and responds to general Govt inquiries, CF-28, CF-29, etc.
  • Assists with any U.S. Customs inquiries and contributes to the development and implementation of compliance programs to meet import regulations imposed by U.S. Customs.
  • Perform general tasks such as generating reoccurring reporting, training, system testing, etc.      
  • Documents and updates process and procedure guidelines.
  • Manage a diverse workload of import-related projects and tasks and adapt to shifting priorities on a day-to-day basis.
  • Interface with cross functional groups to identify and rectify any information/process gaps during the import process.



Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or business equivalent  
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in Import Trade Compliance.
  • Must have proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word)
  • Familiarity with U.S. Customs compliance requirements, Import classification, valuation, agency requirements, and customs clearance knowledge.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization for US



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Business or related field
  • Experience with Oracle EBS, OTM/GTM.
  • Experience working with domestic and international Air, Ocean and Truck transportation, International Freight Forwarders, and small pack couriers.
  • Customs broker license.
  • Highly detailed and exceptionally organized professional, with the ability to motivate diverse teams to achieve a common goal.
