The Imports Wine Specialist is responsible for driving growth, visibility, and brand execution across a diverse portfolio of imported and domestic wines and artisanal spirits - including both high-volume flagship brands, iconic brands and emerging category brands. This role overlays multiple customer segments, combining strategic selling, account management, and brand education to ensure excellence in-market.
You will serve as the primary field expert in your territory, shaping customer relationships, influencing distributor and retailer partners, and elevating brand knowledge through training and activation. Working across key accounts, influential retailer, and strategic partners, you will be the face of our brand in the territory - building relationships, driving velocity, shaping in-market execution, and elevating brand perception at every touchpoint. This role blends high-touch field selling with premium brand storytelling, ensuring our portfolio is represented with excellence across the market.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Territory Sales
  • Own and grow sales performance across a defined geographic territory for a large, multi - brand portfolio with varying levels of priority, channel strategies, and maturity.
  • Develop monthly and quarterly execution plans to achieve distribution velocity and visibility targets.
  • Prioritize key accounts and high-impact sales opportunities across retail, on-premise, and specialty channels (as applicable).
  • Support sales consultants with brand specific pitches and account support.
  • Monitor competitive activity, pricing, and local market trends to inform strategy.

Brand Education & Training
  • Serve as the in-market brand ambassador for the full portfolio, delivering compelling product education to customers, distributor partners, and customers.
  • Conduct regular training, staff seminars, category education sessions, and product demonstrations to build advocacy.
  • Translate brand stories and technical product knowledge into clear, engaging messaging tailored to each audience
  • Support new product launches through market introductions, sampling and training programs.
  • Partner with marketing teams to execute local activations, events and product experiences.

Reporting & Administrative Duties
  • Maintain accurate account records, call notes and pipeline updates.
  • Deliver regular performance recaps, territory insights, and program evaluations.
  • Manage budgets for sampling and local activations
  • Collaborate closely with distributor partners to ensure alignment on priorities, goals and market execution.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:
  • Follows all safety policies and procedures; communicate hazards and/or suggest improvements to Manager
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree & Relevant certifications such as: WSET Levels 1-3 or CSW (Wine/Spirits industry)
  • 5+ years of experience in consumer goods sales, field marketing or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of multi-brand portfolio selling.
  • Experience in presenting education, or training in customer-facing settings.
  • Excellent communication skills - able to simplify complex information for diverse audiences.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize across brands, account types, and seasonal needs.
  • Data-driven mindset with comfort analyzing sales trends and market conditions.
  • Ability to work independently and travel frequently throughout the territory.
  • Passion for consumer products and building brand advocacy.
