Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Import/Export Agent for this exciting direct hire opportunity! This role is ideal for a logistics professional with strong air import and air export operations experience who enjoys managing shipments from start to finish in a fast-paced freight forwarding environment.
The Import/Export Agent will coordinate daily air freight activity, communicate with customers, carriers, customs brokers, agents, warehouses, terminals, and overseas offices, and help ensure shipments move accurately and on schedule. This opportunity offers a collaborative logistics setting where strong communication, attention to detail, and proactive follow-up are valued. Candidates who thrive in a team-oriented environment with supportive leadership and clear operational processes will be well positioned for success.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily air import and air export operations from file opening through shipment completion.
- Receive pre-alerts, coordinate with customs brokers, release shipments, and schedule trucking to customers.
- Monitor air and domestic shipments through carriers, terminals, warehouses, and trucking providers.
- Provide ETA and ETD updates, shipment status reports, and proactive customer communication.
- Coordinate customs-related filings, including AES, and work closely with customs brokers and overseas partners.
- Review billing, vendor invoices, shipment data, and operational documentation for accuracy.
Compensation and Benefits
- Direct hire opportunity.
- Pay range: $25.00 to $28.00 per hour.
