Now Hiring: Import / Logistics Coordinator

Location: La Porte, TX
Pay: $26.00–$28.00 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Import / Logistics Coordinator to join a growing team in La Porte, TX. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience coordinating international imports, ocean freight, inbound containers, and shipment tracking.

This position is responsible for helping ensure imported shipments move efficiently from origin to final destination while maintaining accurate documentation, tracking shipment status, and communicating with internal teams, customers, freight partners, and ocean carriers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor international import shipments from origin through delivery.
  • Track inbound ocean containers and provide accurate shipment visibility and status updates.
  • Work with major ocean shipping lines and their online platforms to monitor container movements and shipment information.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and other logistics partners as needed.
  • Review and maintain import and shipping documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor shipment schedules, arrival dates, and potential delays, communicating updates to the appropriate teams.
  • Assist with coordinating freight movement and delivery appointments.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, containers, and related logistics activities.
  • Use Microsoft Excel to organize, sort, filter, and analyze shipment data and create reports.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments, vendors, customers, and transportation providers.
  • Identify potential shipping or delivery issues and help coordinate timely solutions.
  • Ensure information is entered accurately into internal systems and tracking tools.
  • Perform other logistics and administrative duties as needed to support the department.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in import coordination, international logistics, ocean freight, or shipping operations.
  • Experience working with major ocean shipping line platforms.
  • Knowledge of container tracking and international shipment visibility.
  • Familiarity with import documentation and freight coordination processes.
