Job description

At Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL), our logistics team focuses on clearing imports and exports, recommending transit methods, rescuing shipments, managing government documentation, and appropriately simplifying these areas. We are a small team, but we have the opportunity to interface with many groups to support SEL globally. As a Logistics Planner, you will work directly with carriers to develop a mutually beneficial relationship that helps effectuate long-term strategies. As a Logistics Planner, a typical day might include the following:
  • Implementing compliance processes and procedures, including record keeping.
  • Assisting with export compliance training and communicating export compliance policies and procedures to employees.
  • Updating international related work instructions with current information regarding shipping instructions, ECCN references, and other shipping requirements.
  • Responding to internal and external questions and investigating issues regarding international shipments.
  • Supporting shipment activity and documentation in accordance with export and import shipping laws and regulations.

This job might be for you if:
  • You have a bachelor's degree or related business experience.
  • You have two (2) years of export experience.
  • You have knowledge of U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
  • You have strong computer skills.
  • You have excellent proofreading skills.
  • You can learn concepts and technical details of products.
  • You have three (3) years of shipping experience including all modes of transportation.

Pay Range Data: $29.16-$43.10 per hour
