Job Title: Logistics Analyst

Reports To: General Manager

Schedule: M-F, Full Time

Position Summary:

The successful team member will be detail oriented, proactive, and able to manage domestic and international shipments of industrial machinery and parts.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience arranging freight across multiple modes, managing documentation, and working with global carriers. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, strong communication, and the ability to handle fast-paced, time sensitive shipments.

You will manage and analyze all aspects of logistics within the site to determine the most cost-effective or efficient means of transporting products or supplies, and negotiation of necessary transportation rates or services.

As a Logistics Analyst at Terex/CBI, based in Newton, NH, you'll play a pivotal role. Below is brief description of role responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage inbound or outbound logistics operations, such as transportation or warehouse activities, safety performance, or logistics quality management
  • Ability to understand tariff paperwork
  • Arrange heavy haul trucking for industrial mobile and stationary machinery (domestic and international)
  • Communicate with freight forwarders, trucking companies, and carriers to negotiate rates, schedule pickups, and monitor shipment progress
  • Develop costing to process effective shipping modes, routing and carriers
  • Organize complex domestic and international shipments by coordinating drivers, vehicles, rail, Ro-Ro, container, or breakbulk loads and journeys coming to or leaving the Newton Site
  • Prepare bill of ladings, requisitions, import/export documentation, commercial invoices, and other necessary documentation as required
  • Ensure complete and accurate documentation of International and hazardous material orders
  • Ensure compliance with global trade regulations, customs requirements, and company policies
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, costs, and documentation for audit and tracking purposes
  • Implement, train and maintain corporate export compliance policy
  • Training team members on import and export compliance programs/policies on an annual basis
  • Provide internal teams with shipping timelines, tracking details, and updates
  • Communicate with customers regarding shipment status and resolve delivery issues or delays
  • Collaborate with warehouse teams to ensure timely staging of products for transport
  • Develop, oversee, and monitor SOP site level procedures for all carriers concerning IT capabilities, invoicing requirements, volume incentives/discounts and rebate programs
  • Driving force behind compliance issues with U.S. customs, and correct HS classifications on all inventory movement worldwide (importation or exportation)
  • Coordinate truck, rail, air, and/or ocean import/export clearances
  • Liaise with Terex Corporate compliance relative to all Government and client internal import/export groups/departments or agencies for all formalities and statutory documentation.
  • Classify product HTS and Schedule B HS codes
  • Load/unload/assist in movement of tracked or wheeled machines shipping from or delivering to the Newton site; training team members and non-employee truck drivers as necessary
  • Assist Warehouse team in packaging and preparation materials for Domestic and International shipping when coverage required
  • Manage freight claim procedures and corrective actions
  • Analyzing data to assess performance, discover logistical problems and devise plans for and implement improvements to internal or external logistics systems or processes
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, order management, accounting, or shipping.
  • Represent site level interest while collaborating with corporate level logistics management and other site level peers to plan, develop, and implement Terex-wide logistics initiatives, and negotiate Terex wide logistics contracts or agreements
  • Other related duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 2+ years of experience working in logistics, warehouse, and/or transportation operations
  • Working knowledge of Incoterms, customs regulations, Import/export policies and procedures
  • Familiarity with HS Codes, Tariffs, and Duties
  • Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills both written and verbal
  • Extensive problem-solving skills
  • Solid experience in creating and implementing guidelines, policies and systems
  • Ability to coach and provide training to team members individually or in groups
  • Knowledge of basic computers MS office- Word, Excel, Power point etc
  • Powered industrial truck experience
