Job Title: Import & Export Operation

Location: Hawthorne, CA 90250

Duration: 4 month | Contract to hire

shift: flexible shift 1st or 2nd, Sun to Thu (12 hours a day)

Description:

  • Air Import/Export experience preferred.
  • Cold chain logistics experience ideal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Background in import/export.
  • Morning shift availability (between 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM).
  • Weekend availability.
  • able to lift 25-70 lbs.

Operations Level 2

  • General Summary: Export shipments, work together with drivers and other operations staff to create an efficient pickup / delivery schedule, and maintain the integrity of the product on a daily basis.

  • Export shipments, work together with drivers and other operations staff to create an efficient pickup / delivery schedule, and maintain the integrity of the product on a daily basis.
  • Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assuring correct shipment handling by:
  • Verifying all attached paperwork.
  • Voting any replenishment needs.
  • Preparing Master Air Waybill for shipment.
  • Bookings for shipments that required this prior to export.
  • Filing SED for required shipments.
  • Monitoring shipment notes for pieces waiting for the “ok to send.”
  • Monitoring notes sent to gateway login and replying to / actioning requests in a timely manner.
  • Monitoring inventory of packaging and gel packs:
  • Ensuring that depleted packaging is ordered.
  • Ensuring that gel packs are pre-conditioned and stored correctly for use.
  • Monitoring shipment manifests (Screen 61), the inbound / outbound flight monitor (Screen 62) and the post flight report, and dispatch screens (Screen 51 and 52).
  • Replenishing all shipments pending export in the gateway office.
  • Monitoring live animals being held in the gateway office to ensure proper care.
  • Coordinating / maintaining the airport dispatch board, ensuring that all special delivery instructions are highlighted.
  • Monitoring drivers to ensure pickups and deliveries are made in a timely manner.
  • Monitoring and maintaining cold chain for all shipments on FDA hold.
  • Answering phones and providing directions to drivers when necessary.
  • Reporting all complaints and issues to management immediately.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:

  • Professional demeanor.
  • Sense of urgency.
  • Proficiency in required WorldSTAR screens and other World Courier systems.
  • Full understanding of the importance of Cold Chain Management.
  • General knowledge of the airport and tri state area
  • Ability to multitask.
