Logistics Coordinator

Position Summary

Responsible for coordinating import and export operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective transportation while meeting customer delivery requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Logistics Coordination

  • Research and plan optimal transportation routes based on shipment requirements.
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments, including import/export documentation.
  • Arrange packaging and transportation according to customer specifications and shipment characteristics.
  • Communicate with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other third-party vendors.
  • Monitor shipment status and provide updates to customers.
  • Prepare and manage shipping documents and customs-related paperwork.
  • Process freight payments and related charges.
  • Prepare customer quotations and ensure competitive pricing through vendor negotiations.
  • Issue invoices and maintain accurate shipping records.
  • Assist customers with shipment inquiries, claims, and issue resolution.
  • Update and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Additional Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Maintain accurate records and organized documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external business partners.
  • Support special projects and additional duties as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in logistics, transportation, import/export, customer service, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with shipping documentation and coordination is a plus.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
