Position Overview: The Energy Sales Representative is responsible for developing and implementing a successful sales strategy to grow the fuel, lubricant, and propane business for Keystone Cooperative within the assigned area by building lasting relationships with customers and prospects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Include but are not limited to

  • Sales and marketing activities will include but are not limited to lead generation, making initial contact with new prospects, developing logistics solutions that are competitive in the market and closing new business for benefit of the division

  • Establish and build a regional energy distribution business

  • Make formal and informal sales presentations

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategy

  • Take inbound fuel orders and process them

  • Logistics and logistical problem solving

  • Understand and execute price arbitrage in and between petroleum markets

  • Monitor the effectiveness of logistics and documentation support in the execution of the solutions

  • Build strong internal networks with consistent and effective communication channels

  • Ensure accuracy of orders in company software

  • Address and resolve logistical issues

  • Relationship building and relationship problem solving

  • Purse new customer targets and maintain a customer pipeline to drive margin growth

  • Maintain relationships with customers and prospects

  • Develop a clear strategy to communicate with customers in a timely manner

  • Take leads and build relationships that translate into business

  • Address relationship problems (credit issues, payment problems, late deliveries, etc.) in a way that maintains the relationship while maintaining Keystone standards

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of industry product information

  • Well-developed negotiation, project and account management skills

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively throughout territory

  • Demonstrated ability to make successful presentations to individuals and/or groups at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to organize, problem solve, and prioritize tasks

  • Meet or exceed sales metrics plus strong mathematical aptitude

  • Thorough knowledge of technology and the ability to troubleshoot minor technology issues on the fly

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent experience

  • 3 years petroleum sales experience, preferred
