POSITION SUMMARY:

The Blood Services Implementation Specialist Level 1 provides on-site and in-house application support, troubleshooting, and training to an assigned number of upgrade, hardware, or simple implementation clients for the project's duration and for approximately 30 days after the live date. Along with the Account Executive and Blood Service Implementation Director, shares the responsibility for successfully implementing SCC’s SoftBank, SoftDonor, and/or SoftID.Tx. application Software

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists the Project Manager with all SoftBank, SoftDonor, and/or SoftID activities. Tx implementation ensures that all obligations (contractual and otherwise) are met and that the implementation is performed within the defined time frame.
  • Provides system file build, system functionality training, pre-live audit, go-live assistance, and post-live audit with the hospital blood bank, donor center, and/or nursing staff.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of the system's overall capabilities and Best Practice use.
  • Guides clients in building and fully utilizing all existing system functionality
  • Provides telephone consultations and web-based training sessions to clients as needed
  • Logs and assigns an appropriate level of criticality to all SoftBank, SoftDonor, and/or SoftID.Tx-related calls and tasks.
  • Prepares and updates agendas, activity trackers, and other documents related to monitoring project progress.
  • Works effectively with Blood Services team members and other SCC staff to ensure timely and satisfactory resolutions to client implementation issues.
  • Escalates any issues that may adversely affect client satisfaction or project timeline.
  • Effectively manages assigned workload.
  • Submits trip reports and travel documentation on time.
  • Actively participates in knowledge-sharing with other Blood Services team members.
  • Provides meaningful recommendations for improving the product.
  • Monitors emails, voice mail, and instant messaging applications daily and responds in a timely manner.
  • Serves as an additional resource for non-assigned clients as needed.
  • Participates in technical training programs as assigned.
  • Complies with all approved procedures, directives and guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Education Required:

Four-year degree in a healthcare-related field. A bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology with a specific course in Transfusion and/or Donor Services is highly desirable. Relevant experience may be substituted for a degree.

Experience Required:

A broad understanding of blood bank, donor, and/or transfusion administration protocol is essential. 3-5 years of previous experience in a blood bank, donor laboratory, or clinical setting preferred. Previous experience in the usage, file building and troubleshooting of laboratory information systems (LIS), highly desirable..

Skills Required:

  • Comprehensive understanding of NATA/TGA regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, interpersonal, teaching, presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to perform effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work effectively under stress.

Travel Required:
