Job description

Eaton's IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Quality Manager. This is a full time, on-site position based at our Kings Mountain, NC facility. Relocation assistance is available to those within the US/PR.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $130000 - $190000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

Eaton announced, on June 11, 2026, the intent to combine its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) with a new company. We expect to complete this process by the end of the first half of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the transaction closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.
What you'll do:
  • Use and integration of data to continuously improve the effectiveness of the Quality Management System
  • Institutionalize process focus and accountability through effective policies & procedures, including process walks, process audits and standardized work.
  • Manage and develop the Quality skill set for direct reports and others within the organization. Provide plant level training and guidance for quality problem solving tools.
  • Coordinate and manage CI activities related to quality, including kaizen events, BPI's, Six Sigma projects, CI projects, and other problem-solving activities.
  • Coordinate quality activities with suppliers, as required, to support incoming product quality levels and interface directly with customers as a primary Eaton contact on quality related matters.
  • Lead evaluation of non-conformances and drive corrective action through 8D methodology.
  • Visibly and actively support other functional plant initiatives including safety, wellness, engagement, etc.
  • Establish objectives for plant quality control activities. Reports results of quality performance indicators for the operation (plant level and corporate): Customer DPPM, Internal DPPM, Supplier DPPM, CONC- COPQ (Warranty/Scrap/Rework), Internal Quality Alerts, Non-conforming material quality Communication, external component quality alerts (L1-L2-L3), A3s, 8Ds, 5 Whys as needed, others as defined by the business.
  • Responsible for planning and execution of action plans for failed indicators. Responsible for controls implementation for manufacturing processes: Control Plan, Measurement System Analysis, Process Capabilities, and overall Corrective/Preventive Actions (CAPA) effective implementation.
  • Manage and develops site quality engineers, technicians, and operators to ensure world class quality performance and a continuous improvement culture through the utilization of the OCA and Talent Hub.
  • Deploy Eaton/Dana Business System tools, where appropriate or required, to improve Quality Management System effectiveness (i.e. EQMS, ELSS, WISPER, PRO-Launch etc).
  • Ensure organizational readiness for customer and other third-party assessments related to the QMS.
  • Develop and analyze customer data and process performance information to recommend and implement improvement of the quality metrics for all relevant products.

Qualifications:
Required Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum seven (7) years experience in a quality management position
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience as a manager of people in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum five (5) years operations experience leading quality/manufacturing/continuous improvement systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Experience either managing or supporting ISO 9001 or IATF16949 Quality Management systems or being qualified as an internal or external auditor
  • Strong background in APQP for new product launches and setting successful safe launch back grounds
  • Effective track record in reducing scrap & MRB reduction process
  • Experience serving as an internal or external quality system auditor.
  • ASQ certification and/or Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, Red X, or equivalent continuous improvement certification.
  • Experience supporting Eaton Business System, Lean Manufacturing, or equivalent operational excellence systems.
  • Experience managing supplier quality systems and supplier quality improvement initiatives.

Skills:
  • Strong understanding of Quality core tools and be data driven to drive for decisions.
  • Formal training / certification / experience in problem solving tools & techniques (8D, root-cause & corrective action, 5-why analysis, fishbone / Ishikawa diagrams, error proofing / poka yokes, Reverse FMEA)
  • Familiar with manufacturing support systems (ERP / MRP / MES / Maintenance)
  • Strong computer skills to support tracking, analysis and decision making (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Minitab, Power BI).
  • Ability to effectively communicate, coach, mentor, facilitate and influence at all levels of the organization to help drive efficiency and cost reductions
  • Expertise of AIAG core tools such as Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) , Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Control Plan (CP), Production Part Approval, Process (PPAP requirements), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) / Safe Launch, Applicable Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI's), Layered Process Audits (LPA's)
  • Strong Back Ground in understanding ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, coach, and motivate teams while holding individuals accountable for performance and results.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to interpret performance metrics, manage budgets, and drive operational results.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, collaborate, and build relationships across all levels of the organization and with external customers and suppliers.
