Overview

The Engineering Internship role will support the engineering team with technical tasks, project execution, and day-to-day responsibilities.

This internship role will apply academic knowledge to real-world challenges while gaining hands-on experience, learning EFCOโ€™s systems, and contributing to engineering outcomes.

Please note, this application is for our Engineering Internship opening in Washington D.C., which will be held during the summer of 2027.

Key Responsibilities

Drafting and Engineering (75%)

  • Support project engineering and drafting activities for presale and contracted work.
  • Assist with layout drawings, equipment selection, and quantity take-offs.
  • Work under the supervision of experienced team members to meet project specifications, accuracy, and safety expectations.
  • Apply strong mathematical reasoning and technical proficiency to contribute to high-quality solutions that align with EFCO standards.

Training and Standards (25%)

  • Complete required onboarding, safety training, and EFCO process orientation.
  • Learn and implement EFCOโ€™s drafting and engineering practices.
  • Communicate ideas clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, while demonstrating accountability and a commitment to continuous learning.

Additional duties may be assigned to meet organizational goals and priorities. Duties and responsibilities, as required by business necessity, may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing, to meet organizational goals and priorities.

Qualifications

  • Education: Actively pursuing a bachelorโ€™s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Construction Engineering.
  • Computer Skills:
    • Familiarity with Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) systems required.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and general PC literacy.
  • Other Requirements: Demonstrated organizational skills and problem-solving ability required.
