Job description

About Two Trees

We're a performance marketing agency founded in 2017, headquartered in Sacramento with a team in both California and the UK. Our client roster runs from law firms to B2B manufacturers to restaurant franchises, with monthly ad budgets from $25K to well past $350K. What they have in common is that they hold their marketing accountable to actual business results.

We build server-side tracking, Meta CAPI implementations, and CRM-integrated attribution so our clients can trace spend all the way to signed cases and closed revenue. Then we show them everything. No black boxes, no vanity dashboards, no "trust us."

We've spoken at Hero Conf in the US and UK and MarketingProfs B2B Forum, and we're the kind of shop that tells a client when something isn't working before they have to ask.

What you’ll own
  • Paid search strategy and execution across the client roster. Google Ads is the core. ChatGPT ads, Bing, and emerging search platforms are in scope when they serve the client’s goals, not when they’re just interesting.
  • The testing roadmap. You decide what gets tested, on which accounts, and what results would justify scaling it. You’re the person who figures out where paid search is going before our clients ask us about it.
  • Conversion quality, not just volume. Search intent, query and keyword management, match type strategy, negative lists, bidding, budget pacing, landing page and conversion path improvements. The goal is qualified leads, not cheap clicks.
  • Performance analysis and proactive recommendations. You watch the accounts closely enough to raise an issue before it shows up in a monthly report.
  • Alignment with the Paid Media Specialist so search and social strategy pull in the same direction instead of competing for the same budget.
  • Partnership with the Client Success Director so client goals drive the plan, and so everything happening inside the account is visible and explainable to the client.
What we’re looking for
  • 2+ years managing paid search accounts, agency or in-house, with real ownership of strategy and budget
  • Hands-on Google Ads depth: Search, Performance Max, Demand Gen, bidding strategy, audience signals, scripts or automation a plus
  • Comfort with accounts where the conversion is a phone call, a form, or a store visit rather than an e-commerce transaction
  • Working knowledge of conversion tracking and attribution. You don’t need to build server-side tracking yourself, but you should know why offline conversion imports matter and be able to spot when the data is lying to you
  • Confidence in front of clients. You’ll explain your reasoning, defend a recommendation, and admit when a test didn’t work
  • Genuine curiosity about where search is heading, including AI search surfaces and how they change buyer behavior
Nice to have
  • Experience across more than one vertical, especially high-value lead gen, B2B, or multi-location and franchise accounts
  • High velocity agency experience
  • Familiarity with GA4, Looker Studio, CallRail, HubSpot, or Salesforce
  • Experience running paid search against a CRM feedback loop rather than platform-reported conversions
  • Google Ads certifications (helpful, not a substitute for results)
How we work
  • Remote-friendly, with real flexibility on hours
  • Fully remote where not near a local office
  • Hybrid for Sacramento area residents
  • Small team, direct access to leadership, no layers of approval to get an idea tested
  • Transparent internally as well as externally. You’ll know how the business is doing
  • We care about the work and we also want you to have a life outside it
Compensation and benefits
  • Base Salary $70,000
  • Performance Bonuses
  • 100% Covered Health Plan Allowance
  • 401(k) with match
  • 3 weeks PTO, 4 weeks after 1 year
