Salary Pay Range: $ 58,553.70 - $104,199.62
*As per board approved salary placement rules.
*Certified Critical Need Incentive: Candidates selected for critical need-based positions are eligible to receive salary credit of up to 25 years of approved previous experience.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate and assist the school-based Exceptional Child Education (ECE) team to support student achievement; administer, score, and interpret assessments; and maintain compliance with district Exceptional Child Education procedures. Provide technical assistance and support for the implementation of the Kentucky Administration Regulations (KARs) and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Kentucky Teaching Certificate in Special Education
2. Master's Degree or higher
3. Three (3) years of successful teaching experience in special education or equivalent professional experience
4. Ability to work successfully with people
5. Working knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding programs for exceptional children
6. Ability to work cooperatively in a team situation
7. Demonstrated decision-making abilities
Please note: This position requires a Consultant certification (CA-27) in the area/grade span for which the certificate is requested. A minimum of 3 years of experience in the area/grade span is required by EPSB for the CA-27. Although the certificate is not required prior to being considered for this position, the CA-27 application will be initiated once a candidate is recommended for the position.
Exceptions: A candidate with a Teacher Leader or Supervisor of Instruction endorsement can serve in any consultant role without additional certification.
