Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath Lab / EP

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 4x10-Hour Shifts | Monday–Friday, No Weekends, No On-Call | 40 Hours per Week

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide pre- and post-procedure recovery care for patients undergoing minimally invasive cardiac procedures including coronary angioplasty, stenting, IABP, Impella, electrophysiology studies, and EP device implants
  • Administer and monitor cardiac-related medications and drips in accordance with established protocols
  • Utilize EPIC electronic health records system for accurate and timely documentation
  • Apply critical care skills to monitor and manage cardiac patients throughout the care continuum
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes in the Cath Lab and EP setting
Required Qualifications
  • Active Virginia RN license or valid Compact RN license in hand at time of submittal – no exceptions
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in Critical Care, Emergency Services, Cardiac Cath Lab, Pre/Post Care, or Cardiac Rehab
  • BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association required
  • Proficiency in EPIC – no exceptions
  • Must pass EKG competency test with a score of 80% or higher (one attempt, no remediation; covers rhythm identification, interval measurements, heart blocks, lethal rhythms, atrial/junctional rhythms, and pacing)
  • Must meet facility fit testing requirements; PAPR cannot be accommodated – any history of fit test issues will disqualify a candidate
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Hands-on experience with IABP, Impella, and EP device implants in a clinical setting
  • Background in critical care with a cardiac patient population
  • Prior travel nursing experience with familiarity in compliance and onboarding processes
