Assignment Details
- Full-time contract opportunities
- Initial 16-week assignment with extension opportunities available
- 8-hour and 12-hour shift options depending on facility needs
- Rotating weekend schedule required
- Assignments available at leading inpatient psychiatric and behavioral health facilities throughout North Carolina
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, patient-centered nursing care within inpatient psychiatric and substance withdrawal treatment units
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, including medical, psychiatric, and detoxification evaluations
- Administer prescribed medications while monitoring effectiveness and potential adverse reactions
- Assess and document patients' physical condition, mental status, and behavioral changes
- Respond effectively to psychiatric emergencies and assist with crisis intervention when necessary
- Encourage therapeutic engagement while supporting treatment plans and patient recovery goals
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility, state, and regulatory standards
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
- Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide coordinated patient care
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
- Active and unrestricted North Carolina Registered Nurse license
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- At least one year of recent inpatient nursing experience
- Ability to successfully complete required background screenings, drug testing, credential verification, and competency assessments
