Job description

Coleman Immigration LLC, a boutique immigration law firm located in Ravenswood, seeks to hire experienced Immigration Paralegals/Legal Assistants who are interested in building a career in immigration. You will work under direct attorney supervision to handle business and family-based immigration cases, including: PERM, E-2, H-1B, L-1, O-1, TN, I-130, I-140, I-485 and N-400. Responsibilities will also include liaising with clients, compiling evidence, preparing petitions for filing, and responding to government requests for information. Our exclusive focus on immigration means you will work in an exciting, challenging environment with people who are passionate about immigration.

In this role, you will perform challenging, substantive legal work, such as:

  • Draft petitions, applications including PERM, and specialized support letters detailing eligibility for visa classification and other immigration benefits;
  • Responsible for End-to-end case management;
  • Analyze case documents and prepare immigration applications for filing;
  • File documents with government agencies;
  • Maintain case management system and client contact information;
  • Liaise directly with corporate representatives and foreign nationals;
  • Work closely in team environment and provide updates while building knowledge of Firm and client processes.

Position Requirements:

  • At least three years of full-time experience as an immigration associate/paralegal/legal assistant, including in-depth experience with the PERM process, five years preferred;
  • Bachelor’s degree or bar-certified paralegal certificate;
  • Excellent writing and research abilities;
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office and case management software (such as MyCase, Docketwise, INSZoom);
  • Spanish speaking is a plus.
