Compensation:

$45,000


Responsibilities:
  • Assist attorneys with complex family-based immigration petitions and deportation cases.
  • Organize and analyze information and files.
  • Maintain the Firm’s litigation calendar.
  • Draft letters and court documents.
  • Draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, exhibit lists, and appeals to the US. Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Draft legal applications for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
  • Thoroughly research laws and judicial decisions about current as well as past cases.
  • Communicate with clients by providing updates and gathering information in English and Spanish.
  • Draft letters to clients in Spanish.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, a Certification as a trained paralegal with 2+ years of experience, or equivalent on-the-job Legal Assistant/Paralegal experience in a law firm environment will be considered. Pay will DOE.
  • Previous experience as a Paralegal with an immigration law firm STRONGLY desired.
  • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.


Experience with immigration client management/forms software such as Cerenade, EImmigration, Immigration Tracker, preferred but not required.

Personal qualities: Highly motivated, highly organized, excellent communication skills, excellent research and writing skills, ability to prioritize and multitask, deadline and detail-oriented, works well independently, works well under pressure.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $38,000 to $45,000 /year
