We are currently seeking a passionate and highly qualified Immigration Lawyer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a member in good standing of a Canadian bar association with a minimum of 2 years of experience in immigration law
Qualifications:
  • Active membership in good standing with a Canadian Bar Association.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in immigration law, with expertise in:
  • Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) processes and requirements.
  • Negotiating with Canadian employers to facilitate foreign recruitment.
  • Handling Judicial Review (JR) cases, including preparation and representation.
  • Filing and managing Mandamus applications to compel governmental action.
  • Representing clients in appeals before relevant immigration authorities and tribunals.
  • Managing and advocating for refugee protection claims and related legal processes.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Canadian immigration laws, policies, and procedural nuances.
  • Spanish language skills are not required but would be a valuable asset.
Responsibilities :
  • Immigration Applications :Prepare and submit various immigration applications, including LMIA requests, ensuring accuracy and completeness to minimize the risk of rejections.
  • Legal Representation: Represent clients in legal proceedings, including appeals before the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB), judicial review applications in Federal Court, and mandamus actions to ensure immigration authorities fulfill their obligations.
  • Refugee Cases: Evaluate the legitimacy of asylum seekers' and refugees' claims, represent them in IRB proceedings, prepare detailed statements, and gather necessary evidence to support their cases.
  • Legal Compliance:Stay informed on changes in immigration laws and policies, ensuring clients receive accurate advice and remain compliant with current regulations.
