In this role, you will:

  • Perform Legal Assistant Duties: Conflicts checks and opening new matters; reviewing documents and correspondence; drafting and proofreading pleadings; preparing motion and discovery shells; preparing exhibits for filing; downloading and saving court filings; scheduling and preparing hearings, conferences and mediations; preparing, finalizing and submitting court filings including tribunals; client communication; calendaring, docketing and file management (electronic and paper); entering attorney time; reviewing attorney prebills; tracking client budgets; booking travel; submitting expenses and reimbursements.
  •  Perform Office Support Duties: Ordering and stocking office and kitchen supplies; photocopying/scanning documents, offsite file storage maintenance; reception duties; mail/delivery processing; general office and office equipment upkeep; point of contact for building maintenance requests.  
Requirements:

 You will excel in this role by: 

  • By being a team player with the following qualifications:
  • Experience in a law firm, supporting multiple attorneys, ideally experienced in complex litigation and appellate cases.
  • Advanced knowledge of California and Federal filing. Appellate Procedure and US Appellate Courts filing experience would be considered a plus. 
  • Experience with Tribal courts and administrative tribunals is considered a plus.
  • Possess experience with legal software such as PACER, CM/ECF/E-Filing, Sharefile, TrueFiling, Law ToolBox etc. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and E-discovery platforms such as RelativityOne, Nextpoint, Lexbe, or similar platforms
  • Adept at proofreading and editing documents and client bills.
  • Proactive, highly organized, and skilled at document management
  • Proactive attitude, excellent judgment, and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize projects and work under pressure with various deadlines.
  • Track record of excellent attendance and reliability.

Position Details:

This is a Full-Time 40 hours a week position located Downtown San Francisco with some flexibility to work remote as business needs allow. The pay range is $80,000 - $100,000 per year, actual pay will be determined based on skills and experience. Medical, dental, vision, STD, LTD, group term life insurance, 401(k), paid time off, sick time, parental leave, and transit allowance are also offered.
