At Deloitte Tax, you will help clients analyze the tax effects of complex decisions, reduce overall tax rates, and support business goals. You will work with teams and clients on complex tax matters, apply research and technology, and develop practical solutions across a range of tax services.

Work you'll do

As a Tax Intern on the Deloitte Tax team, you will be responsible for supporting client service teams in analyzing tax implications, performing research, and assisting with tax planning and compliance activities.

  • Conduct tax research on federal, state, and other tax matters to support client engagements and planning strategies
  • Analyze findings and assist in developing practical insights related to the tax impact of business and individual decisions
  • Support the preparation of technical memoranda, summaries, and other written analyses based on tax law research
  • Assist in preparing business and individual federal, state, and other tax returns, forms, and supporting workpapers
  • Collaborate with engagement teams to gather information, track deliverables, and support day-to-day client service needs

Required:

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and expected to graduate by Summer or Fall 2028 pursuing a Juris Doctor (JD) degree or higher in Taxation, Accounting, or a related/equivalent program 
  • Strong academic track record (3.0 cumulative GPA required) 
  • Bar exam eligibility before beginning full-time employment 
  • You must reside within a commutable distance of your assigned office with the ability to commute daily, if required. You can expect to co-locate on average 2-3 times a week with variations based on types of work/projects and client locations 
  • Ability to attend all in person core programming sessions
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve 
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available 
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment 
  • The start date for this position will be in Summer 2027

Preferred:

  • Coursework, concentration, or advanced study in taxation
  • Internship or work experience in tax, accounting, legal research, or a law firm
