Your duties and responsibilities in this career depend in large part on what group you represent. For example, some case managers provide orientation within the legal system to undocumented immigrants who have been detained by the federal government, helping them fill out legal residency applications or prepare for deportation. Others help documented immigrants by planning work visas and citizenship tests, conducting home and work evaluation assessments, and providing access to social services.

Excellent communication, cultural sensitivity, and attention to detail are vital soft skills for building trust with clients and managing complex cases. These skills ensure accurate, timely case processing and effective advocacy for clients navigating complex immigration procedures.
