• This is a commission-based role.
• Field-based position requiring on-call availability, including evenings and weekends.
• Division: Sales Team
• Reports To: Sales Manager
• On-scene arrival target: 45 minutes, with an acceptable window of 30–120 minutes based on real-time drive time.
• This is not a traditional sales role. The position does not involve quoting repair scope or guiding homeowners through the restoration or insurance process.
• Duties outside normal responsibilities may be required from time to time.

Job Description:

• Seeking a First Responder Consultant to support homeowners following property-loss events.
• This is a fast-paced, people-focused field position requiring empathy, composure, urgency, and the ability to quickly establish trust with homeowners experiencing high-stress situations.
• The First Responder Consultant serves as the first point of contact at loss scenes, assessing immediate needs, providing reassurance and support, coordinating with the Lead Loss Consultant, and establishing a clear path toward the next stage of the restoration process.

Responsibilities:

• Respond to fire and property-loss notifications with an on-scene arrival target of 45 minutes, with an acceptable window of 30–120 minutes based on real-time drive time.
• Complete a rapid assessment from the vehicle before exiting, score the loss, and confirm resource requirements before making contact.
• Coordinate with the paired Lead Loss Consultant immediately upon arrival.
• Make initial contact with homeowners with calmness, confidence, and genuine care.
• Listen to and understand homeowners’ immediate concerns, fears, and needs before discussing next steps.
• Assist with immediate emergency needs, including safety, temporary shelter coordination, board-up, and access to resources.
• Build trust quickly and help homeowners feel heard, safe, and hopeful during the initial conversation.
• Communicate that there is a clear path forward and explain the importance of timely action without making promises regarding restoration specifics.
• Maintain communication discipline by directing scope, timeline, and insurance questions to the Lead Loss Consultant during the Second Day Appointment.
• Secure the Second Day Appointment within 24–48 hours of initial contact and ensure all decision-makers are present.
• Attend the Second Day Appointment alongside the Lead Loss Consultant and personally introduce the consultant to the homeowner.
• Complete the handoff only after the in-person introduction and Second Day Appointment are completed.
• Complete loss documentation and photographs using a mobile device immediately following scene contact.
• Confirm and communicate property-security information to homeowners, including board-up status, lockbox location, and access instructions.
• Keep the Lead Loss Consultant informed throughout every stage of the process.
• Respond to initial notifications within 15 minutes.
• Maintain 100% attendance at Second Day Appointments.
• Ensure loss documentation is 100% complete on the same day.

Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Availability for on-call emergency response, including evenings and weekends.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to enter a crisis situation and help individuals feel safe within the first 60 seconds.
• Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly, calmly, and confidently under pressure.
• Comfortable working outdoors at active loss scenes involving fire, structural damage, and hazardous environments.
• Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with mobile technology and basic CRM/field-reporting tools.

Nice to haves:

• Background in restoration, construction, emergency services, insurance, or a related field.
• Experience working with individuals in high-stress or crisis situations.
• IICRC certification or willingness to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
