Terms of Employment: 10 month employee - temporary if hired after contractual start date for teachers
Reports to: Building Principal
Salary: Current Teacher salary schedule
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Meets certification requirements of the State of Delaware for Middle Level Science.
  • Certification requirements of the State of Delaware for Exceptional Children K-12 preferred
  • Successful completion of Praxis II exam
  • Teacher who is designated Highly Qualified in Middle Level Science preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Teach Science to students
  • Able to work with students in an middle school level placement
  • Works cooperatively with all staff and parents
  • Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students
  • Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superior
  • Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior
  • Strives to implement by instruction and action the district's mission statement.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation
  • With notice and consistent with employment commitments, is available to students and parents, within reason, for educational related purposes outside the instructional day
  • Performs other duties as assigned
