What does immediate 401(k) vesting mean?

Immediate 401(k) vesting means that any employer contributions made to your 401(k) retirement account are fully yours as soon as they are deposited. Unlike vesting schedules, where you need to work for the company for a certain period to keep employer contributions, immediate vesting allows you to take all employer-matched funds with you if you leave your job at any time. This is a valuable benefit because it increases your financial flexibility and security.

How does immediate 401(k) vesting impact my retirement savings?

Immediate 401(k) vesting means that any employer contributions to your retirement plan are fully yours from the moment they are deposited, with no waiting period. This can be especially valuable if you anticipate changing jobs, as you won't lose any employer contributions if you leave the company. It also provides greater financial security and flexibility in managing your long-term retirement strategy. For job seekers, this benefit reflects a company’s commitment to employee financial well-being and can be a significant factor when comparing job offers.

Senior Estimator – Foundations | Electrical Infrastructure & Heavy Civil

A leading utility and infrastructure contractor is seeking a Senior Estimator to support the continued growth of its foundation construction operations across the electrical infrastructure market.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimator with knowledge of drilled shafts, shallow foundations and concrete flatwork to take ownership of complex bids and help shape the commercial strategy behind major transmission, substation and infrastructure projects.

What you’ll be doing:

• Preparing detailed estimates covering labor, materials, equipment and subcontractors

• Reviewing drawings, specifications, RFPs and project scopes

• Completing material, labor and equipment take-offs

• Leading bid reviews, pre-bid meetings and proposal presentations

• Developing pricing strategies, risk registers and cost analyses

• Coordinating with operations, engineering and project management teams

• Managing client questions and clarifications throughout the bidding process

• Supporting project turnover and change-order estimating

• Mentoring and developing junior estimators

What we’re looking for:

• At least three years of construction estimating or relevant field experience

• Experience with drilled shafts, flatwork or shallow foundations

• Background in electrical infrastructure, transmission, substations or heavy civil construction

• Strong understanding of construction costs, productivity and project risk

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating tools

• A degree in construction management, civil engineering or a related discipline is preferred, although equivalent experience will be considered

This position offers the opportunity to work on complex infrastructure projects within a growing organization with a strong national presence.

Benefits include immediate 401(k) vesting and employer contributions, medical, dental and vision coverage, paid time off from day one, disability and life insurance, paid holidays and additional employee wellness benefits.
