Job description

We are looking for a Systems Administrator to support daily IT operations and provide dependable technical assistance to employees in Austin, Texas. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on support work while contributing to core infrastructure, end-user systems, and security-focused initiatives. The role combines desktop support, server administration, Microsoft 365 assistance, and environment maintenance in a collaborative technology setting.
Responsibilities:
• Deliver front-line technical support for employees by resolving issues involving workstations, laptops, applications, printers, connectivity, and user access
• Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop and laptop hardware, operating systems, and business software across the organization
• Support the Microsoft 365 environment, including collaboration and productivity platforms such as SharePoint, Office, Teams, and Teams Voice
• Contribute to cybersecurity efforts by helping maintain a secure computing environment and addressing routine protection measures
• Assist with oversight and upkeep of the virtual server infrastructure using VMware vSphere and vCenter tools
• Perform regular server administration activities, including health checks, monitoring, and basic maintenance tasks
• Help manage user accounts, permissions, and directory services within the Active Directory environment
• Apply updates, security fixes, and system changes to Mac devices to maintain stability and compliance
• Track technology assets by coordinating lease timelines, equipment refreshes, and replacement planning
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation for support procedures, endpoint configuration, and server operations

• At least 2 years of experience in help desk, desktop support, or systems support within an IT environment

• Working knowledge of Windows desktop and Windows Server administration

• Hands-on experience with Active Directory user and system administration

• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Exchange administration, including user support for core productivity tools

• Experience with desktop imaging, endpoint setup, and device troubleshooting

• Extensive communication skills and a service-oriented approach when assisting internal users

• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and resolve technical issues with sound judgment

• Basic understanding of networking concepts; exposure to VMware administration is preferred
