Job description

GENERAL SUMMARY

Assists technologists to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems and provides support for the imaging department. We are looking for two Imaging Services Assistant ย positions- one 36hr week Day shift and one 36hr week night shift.

  • Explains procedures to patient to ensure understanding. Provides appropriate educational material.ย 
  • Transports patients to and from clinical areas and verifies patient identity according to policies and procedures. Assists technologists with preparing patient for radiology exam by positioning the patient for the procedure.
  • Assists technologists with picture archiving and communication system (PACS) and electronic medical records (EMR) documentation on an as needed basis.
  • Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Performs post procedural duties including patient discharge, room clean up and restocking supplies.ย 
  • Assists with inventory control.ย 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:ย 

  • High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicableย 

CERTIFICATION/LICENCES REQUIRED:ย 

  • BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. ADDITIONAL PREFERENCES: Some computer knowledge, customer service skills
