Job description

Your next role as a Miracle Makerย 

Maravai LifeSciences is seeking a #MiracleMaker to join our Commercial team as a Senior Field Application Scientist. The Senior Field Application Scientist serves as the scientific subject matter expert supporting customer engagement, technical consultation, and solution development for TriLink's guide RNA (gRNA), oligonucleotide, mRNA, and related nucleic acid technologies. This role partners with customers and cross-functional teams to translate scientific requirements into custom solutions that advance product adoption, commercialization, and business growth. The position provides scientific leadership across complex customer engagements while strengthening technical capabilities, market awareness, and strategic initiatives.

How you will make an impact:ย 

  • Partner with Business Development and Commercial teams to develop technical strategies supporting complex customer opportunities, custom solutions, and pre- and post-sales activities.
  • Develop scientific recommendations and technical solutions for guide RNA (gRNA), oligonucleotide, mRNA, custom manufacturing, analytical testing, and phase-appropriate GMP services based on customer requirements.
  • Serve as the scientific subject matter expert by resolving complex technical challenges and advising customers on TriLink technologies, products, and services.
  • Assess customer requirements and collaborate with Product Management, Research & Development, Manufacturing, Quality, and Commercial teams to determine technical feasibility and solution approaches.
  • Represent TriLink through scientific presentations, customer meetings, conferences, webinars, workshops, and industry events while strengthening scientific credibility and business development.
  • Translate Voice of the Customer (VOC), emerging applications, scientific literature, and market trends into recommendations supporting product innovation, portfolio strategy, and commercial growth.
  • Provide technical leadership and scientific guidance to Commercial teams while sharing best practices across customer engagements and complex technical opportunities.
  • Prepare and present technical proposals, statements of work (SOWs), scientific presentations, publications, webinars, and related customer-facing technical documentation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

ย The skills and experience that you will bring:ย 

  • Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Genomics, or a related scientific discipline and 2-5 years of relevant experience; or bachelor's degree with 13+ years or master's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in guide RNA (gRNA), oligonucleotide synthesis, mRNA technologies, nucleic acid therapeutics, molecular biology, and related scientific applications.
  • Experience supporting custom manufacturing, analytical testing, GMP services, process development, quality, or related scientific functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess customer requirements, develop scientific recommendations, and translate complex scientific concepts into customer-focused technical solutions.
  • Strong customer-facing, consultative, presentation, and scientific communication skills with experience supporting Business Development and Commercial organizations.
  • Knowledge of clinical development, CMC, GMP, and regulatory requirements supporting nucleic acid therapeutics preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex customer engagements while collaborating across Product Management, Research & Development, Manufacturing, Quality, and Commercial organizations.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% to support customer meetings, conferences, scientific presentations, and business development activities.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $130,000. In addition, highly competitive long-term incentives in the form of company equity, bonus participation and company sponsored benefits are provided as part of the total compensation package. The salary offer will depend on multiple factors which may include the successful candidate's skills, experience and other qualifications, as well as the location of the role.ย
