Registered Radiology Technologist-FT

Full time Registered Radiology Technician

Qualifications

Graduate of Radiology program

ARRT in good standing, or eligible.

BLS certified.

Advanced Registry Or Minimum One-year Experience Preferred

The Radiology Technologist will be responsible for performing routine diagnostic radiology procedures using portable and fixed x-ray machines. The Radiological Technologist will be responsible for safe operation of the x-ray machines to include utilizing ALARA techniques, entering patient demographics, image assessment, and utilization of the PACS and Cerner.

  • Performs all x-rays for DWM Medical Center Clinic and Gulf Orthopedics.
  • Performs x-ray procedures; positioning patients for required views, technique selection, shielding, patient identification, and entering demographics.
  • Utilizes operators control (kvp, ma, mas), table controls, and bucky controls.
  • Utilizes resources to ensure all required views are done and submitted for interpretation.
  • Communicates to the radiologist any relative information to the procedure.
  • Utilizes trouble shooting on simple equipment issues, dialoging with manager or service.
  • Provides patient education about the procedure, to include when and how to get the results.
  • Utilizes PACS for matching and image review.
  • Performs required documentation and patient screenings, scan forms' into PACS.
  • Maintains equipment contracts.
  • Assists with answering phones, submitting orders, CD burning/sign out.
  • Participates in Department educational meetings.
  • Coordinates with orthopedics when necessary, new techniques, etc.
  • Train x-ray back-up and sign off on their competency.
  • Cross train in phlebotomy, urine drug screens, BAT and EKG etc.

The Radiology Technologist will be expected to perform their duties in an independent manner. The technologist dialog directly to the radiologist and or physician(when needed), to obtain or provide patient
