Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a 13-week evening/night contract requiring ARRT certification and proficiency with Siemens CT scanners.

Details
  • Work in a hospital CT Scan department
  • Third shift evening schedule from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, Friday through Sunday
  • 36 hours per week at 0.9 FTE
  • Perform CT scanning, image acquisition, image processing, and analysis for diagnostic imaging studies
  • Uses Siemens CT scanner equipment
Requirements
  • Associate's degree from a JRCERT accredited Radiology Program, or military training graduate of a JRCERT-accredited program validated by active ARRT Certification
  • Current license through the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy required if applicable
  • BLS certification required
  • ARRT registered or registry eligible
  • 2 years of experience as a Rad Tech in diagnostic radiology preferred
  • Prior CT Technologist experience in a hospital or medical imaging facility preferred
  • Additional ARRT CT certification preferred
  • Proficiency with Siemens CT scanners required
  • Strong knowledge of CT imaging principles, techniques, and equipment operation
  • Proficiency in CT scanning protocols, image acquisition, and post-processing techniques
Additional Information
  • Greet and prepare patients for CT scans, explaining procedures and addressing questions or concerns
  • Verify patient identity, medical history, and physician orders to ensure appropriate imaging protocols
  • Position and immobilize patients to minimize motion artifacts and obtain clear images
  • Adjust scanning parameters such as slice thickness, exposure settings, and contrast administration to optimize image quality
  • Monitor patients during scanning for adverse reactions and take appropriate action as needed
  • Perform image processing techniques such as windowing, reconstruction, and multiplanar reformatting
  • Assist radiologists and physicians with image interpretation and documentation
  • Provide guidance to colleagues on CT imaging techniques, patient positioning, and radiation safety practices
  • Support orientation of new staff and education of Radiologic Technology students
  • Adhere to ALARA radiation safety principles and maintain knowledge of emergency protocols
  • Perform daily equipment checks and quality control tests on the CT scanner
  • Collaborate with biomedical engineers and service technicians on equipment maintenance needs
  • Participate in quality assurance activities including image quality assessments and protocol optimization
