What are some typical challenges an iMac technician faces when diagnosing hardware versus software issues?

As an iMac Technician, one common challenge is accurately distinguishing between hardware and software problems, since symptoms like slow performance or random shutdowns can stem from either. Hardware issues may involve faulty components such as logic boards or hard drives, requiring hands-on testing and part replacements, whereas software problems often need system diagnosis, malware scans, or operating system reinstalls. Effective troubleshooting often involves a step-by-step process to rule out possibilities, and collaborating with other technicians or Apple support resources can be essential for resolving complex cases.
