Job SummaryProvide housekeeping service for Administration Building, Forest Resource Center, Animal Science Center, dormitory, and student houses at Dixon Springs Agricultural Center (DASAC).
Duties & Responsibilities- Dormitory - change bedding, provide clean towels and supplies. Clean and disinfect sinks, showers, and toilets. Do laundry as needed; keep laundry room neat and lint screens clean. Cleans and dusts furnishings, rooms, hallways, and lavatories. Dust, sweep, and dust-mop floors. Cleans interior mirrors and interior glass. Assist in setting up facilities for meetings and special events, clean up afterwards. Maintain clean kitchen facility, remove old food from refrigerator. Turn off lights, lock up buildings and equipment, make periodic checks of building, and report items that need repair.
- Administration Building/Forest Resource Center/Animal Science Center - dust, sweep, and mop all offices, stairs and halls, break rooms, conference room. Sweep and mop restrooms, keep toilets and sinks cleaned and disinfected. Keep soap, towels, and tissue in stock at all times; empty trash cans daily. Wash dishes and clean out coffee pots in break room daily; keep all walls dusted and cleaned regularly. Keep windows clean, strip and wax tile floors as needed.
- Clean and prepare houses for summer camp, dormitory over-flow or large groups. Sweep steps and walk-ways regularly. Plant and maintain flowerbeds, as needed. Maintain supplies, anticipate needs and make purchases as needed. List and report jobs that require assistance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Physical Demands and Working ConditionsTo perform the functions of this position, the employee will be required to perform work both within an office and outside in the communities that are served and must have the capability to travel from one location to the other in a timely fashion. Employee is responsible for securing personal transportation. A valid driver's license is preferred. Some work will be required during evenings and/or weekends. When working, the employee may be exposed to a variety of environmental factors to include, but not limited to, hot or cold weather, exposure to noise and allergens, and uneven ground. In performing the functions of this position, the employee may be subjected to various mental and physical demands as well to include, but not limited to, independently traveling to and performing work at different locations, ability to move, transfer and/or transport items that may occasionally weigh up to forty (40) pounds and frequently weigh up to twenty (20) pounds, and twisting, pushing and pulling movements. Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Ability to follow directions. Sound judgment as to when to notify proper personnel in matters of fire, theft, and illegal entry.
Appointment InformationThis is a 60% part-time Civil Service 2296 - Maid position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible. Salary is $23,013.90.
