Job description

School Psychologist – Travel Opportunity (Illinois)

The School Psychologist supports students facing a variety of mental health and developmental challenges while assisting in the evaluation and qualification process for additional educational support services. This role involves providing on-site psychological services in accordance with state and district guidelines.

Position Details
  • Location: Illinois
  • Start Date: August 12, 2026
  • Duration: 39 Weeks
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week
  • Setting: Elementary Schools
  • Openings: 1
  • Hourly Rate: $60
Assignment Overview

This position supports two elementary school sites:

  • Site 1

    • Conducts approximately 30 evaluations annually
    • Oversees MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) processes
    • Participates in data meetings and determines student progress monitoring needs
    • Utilizes systems such as Embrace and MTSS frameworks
  • Site 2

    • Focuses solely on evaluations (approximately 10–15 annually)
    • No MTSS or progress monitoring responsibilities

School psychologists in this setting do not provide direct counseling services. Social workers handle counseling needs. Limited group support (such as SAIG groups) may occur if time allows.

Minimum Requirements
  • Active state license and/or certification as a School Psychologist
  • Master’s degree in Psychology (or higher) preferred
  • Experience with pediatric and adolescent populations preferred
  • Knowledge of and adherence to professional standards of practice
  • Current CPR certification (if required)
  • TB screening or chest x-ray (if applicable)
  • Current health certificate as required by state or contract
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local compliance requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
