About the Project/Clinic:

??AMI will be supporting the Indian Health Service in Mescalero, NM, by providing medical staff to help deliver compassionate, high-quality healthcare to patients in the community.

Job Summary:

??The Indian Health Service (IHS) is seeking a Radiologic Technologist with Mammography Certification to provide imaging services at the white earth service unit. The technologist will be responsible for performing diagnostic Radiographic and Mammographic examinations to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform Radiologic and Mammographic procedures in accordance with established protocols and safety standards.
  • Operate and maintain Radiographic and mammography equipment.
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures, ensuring comfort and proper positioning.
  • Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards and hospital policies.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and imaging reports.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians and healthcare staff to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Follow guidelines set by Indian Health Service (IHS) and other regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain high standards of infection control and equipment maintenance.

The job duties are flexible and subject to change depending upon operational needs.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Radiographic techniques, safety protocols, and patient care standards.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Compliance with Indian Economic Enterprise (IEE) Buy Indian Act preferred.

Education & Experience:

  • Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT or equivalent).
  • Mammography Certification (ARRT(M) preferred).
  • Minimum one year of experience in radiology and mammography.

Additional Requirements:

  • Background check and character investigation as per the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act.
  • Credentialing and fingerprinting required before starting.
  • Ability to work in Remote Areas and travel, if necessary, with weather-related travel challenges expected at some locations.
  • Proof of required immunizations and health clearances (including PPD/TB Gold, annual influenza vaccination, MMR, and Hepatitis B)
  • Ability to meet physical and training requirements established by IHS
  • Must be able to work in a safe manner following all safety rules and regulations. Must work as a team member to improve safety culture and quality.?
