Job description

Texas-based statewide systems integration company seeks a controls automation engineer or technician for municipal water/wastewater Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, electrical, instrumentation, and controls projects throughout Texas. Services include design, project management, PLC & HMI programming, deployment, testing, and commissioning with some service and technical support for existing customers in the SCADA industry.

Duties:

  • Serve as the water process expert for Trac-N-trol
  • Corporate liaison for local water/wastewater utilities on needs for system upgrades, service, and project support
  • Provides system programming and completes acceptance tests.
  • Maintains systems by problem-solving, testing, diagnosing problems, and completing repairs on electronic control panels, radio communication devices, computer systems and networks, and software.
  • Maintains records by documenting original system upgrades and repairs; completes work orders for invoicing by central office. Complete project management documentation.
  • Complies with regulations by adhering to codes, specifications, and rules; reads blueprints and technical bulletins.
  • Keeps company-provided installation & service equipment and vehicles operating by following operating instructions to meet job duty requirements.
  • Updates job knowledge by completing recertification, taking educational opportunities, and reading technical publications.
  • Provides technical support for outside sales missions by completing related tasks as needed by area sales representatives.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Water treatment systems (desalination, water reuse, industrial treatment)
  • Experience with any SCADA applications and HMI software (Ignition, VTScada, Wonderware, and iFix).
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley, Modicon, SCADAPack, Siemens, and GE PLCs.
  • Up to 50% travel may be required out of our office located in Georgetown, TX
  • Customer service orientation, professionalism, exemplary ethical conduct, technical understanding, system administration, problem-solving, communications
  • Must be mature, dependable, and thorough
  • Excellent references, driving record, and a drug test are required
