A True Specialist Role 
This is a dedicated SCADA‑Ignition specialist position, offering ownership, depth, and meaningful collaboration with experienced engineers and architects. 
 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Design, configure, develop, and maintain SCADA systems using Inductive Automation Ignition 

  • Support new DER and client projects, including site onboarding, configuration, and commissioning support 

  • Execute AVEVA to Ignition migrations, upgrades, and system enhancements 

  • Develop and maintain SCADA screens, dashboards, redundancy, and UI components 

  • Provide operational support and troubleshooting for SCADA‑Ignition related requests and tickets 

  • Perform Ignition upgrades, patching, testing, and QA 

  • Collaborate with DER Systems, Engineering, and Operations teams to support delivery and reliability 

  • Contribute to documentation, standards, templates, and continuous improvement of SCADA practices 

  • Participate in a tiered support and on‑call model as the team scales 

What Success Looks Like 

  • Successful delivery of Ignition migrations and new site onboarding 

  • Timely and reliable completion of SCADA enhancements and operational requests 

  • Improved system resiliency and reduced single point of failure risk 

  • Measurable reduction in reliance on senior DER engineers for tactical SCADA work 

  • Faster project delivery and more sustainable operational support model  

Required Skills & Qualifications 

  • ~ 2-3+ years of hands-on experience working in SCADA environments 

  • Ignition certification (preferred) 

  • Strong experience with Inductive Automation Ignition (HMI development, configuration, scripting and support) 

  • Experience with SCADA migrations, upgrades, or system enhancements 

  • Working knowledge of Python and/or Jython  

  • Familiarity with SCADA telemetry standards and industrial communication protocols 

  • Ability to troubleshoot and support production systems in operational environments 

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross functional teams   

  • Experience in DER, energy, utilities, or critical infrastructure environments is an asset 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
