What is an IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) specialist?

An IFC specialist is a professional who works with Industry Foundation Classes (IFC), which is a standardized, open file format used for Building Information Modeling (BIM) data exchange. They facilitate the sharing and coordination of construction and design information across different software platforms, ensuring that project stakeholders can collaborate efficiently. Their role is crucial in maintaining data integrity and interoperability in construction and architectural projects. IFC specialists often assist in setting up BIM workflows, troubleshooting data exchange issues, and optimizing the use of IFC standards within project teams.
