INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF ACCOUNTANTS (IFAC)

IFAC has traditionally delivered member services from a centralized operating model based in New York. IFAC also continues to provide operational and administrative support to the International Foundation for Ethics and Audit (IFEA) through a service-level agreement. IFEA is a separate, independent non-profit organization that houses two international standard-setting boards focused on audit and ethics.
POSITION SUMMARY
The IT Systems & Applications Lead supports IFAC's global IT operations by providing technical assistance, maintaining systems and digital tools, and contributing to projects that enhance IT services across the organization. Working as part of the IT team, the IT Systems & Applications Lead role blends deep technical expertise across Microsoft platforms with project leadership, systems integration, networking fundamentals, and security best practices. The position partners closely with vendors and business stakeholders while remaining actively involved in system configuration, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, supporting IFAC's global workforce and operations, and helps maintain compliance with technology standards and policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include those that are set out below. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
  • Provide day-to-day technical support for staff across global locations, including troubleshooting hardware, software, network, and user issues.
  • Assist in maintaining IT systems, infrastructure, and applications, ensuring they are secure, up-to-date, and operating effectively.
  • In conjunction with the CFAO and the Head of IT, assist with the development and implementation of IT systems, specifically Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Content Management System (CMS) in the short term to support secure and scalable operations.
  • Support the management and tracking of IT assets, maintaining accurate inventories of hardware and software.
  • Help monitor and maintain cybersecurity measures, including user access controls and compliance with data protection policies.
  • Assist in managing and coordinating tasks with various external IT service providers to ensure the timely resolution of issues and smooth service delivery.
  • Lead technical projects involving enterprise applications, cloud migrations, system upgrades, and integrations, to include office technology setups for new locations.
  • Maintain technical documentation, system configurations, architecture diagrams, and document IT procedures, user guides, and knowledge base articles to support staff and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Monitor system health, performance, availability, and security posture across enterprise platforms.
  • Support change management, user adoption, and technical training initiatives.
  • Help prepare reports on IT system performance, issues, and trends for analysis for Senior Leadership.
  • Stay current on emerging IT tools, technologies, and best practices relevant to IFAC's global environment.
  • Provide IT support in alignment with established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to ensure timely, high-quality service delivery to partner organizations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, preferred.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in an Senior systems engineer/administration role, preferably in a global or multi-location organization, preferred.
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, networks, Microsoft Office applications, and cloud-based solutions.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Teams, Dynamics 365, Business Central, SharePoint Online, and Entra ID/Azure is highly desired.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity controls, data protection requirements, and identity management solutions.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Highly organized, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to track complex deliverables.
  • Member-centric mindset, with a proactive and forward-looking approach and commitment to the public interest.
  • Ability to navigate cultural and jurisdictional sensitivities and work effectively across diverse cultures and levels of an organization.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and a team-oriented perspective.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Additionally, if an applicant is US-based, provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, employees (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees will also be able to enroll in our company's 401 (k) plan, as well as a deferred compensation plan, provided they meet plan requirements.
IFAC welcomes applicants from all geographical locations, and this role can be remote if outside the NY-Metropolitan area. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At IFAC, compensation decisions are dependent on thefacts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for candidates in the NY-Metropolitan region is $90,000 to $130,000.
