Job Description
The IEI Liturgical Coordinator will serve as a key leader in fostering the spiritual life and communal identity of the Institute. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating faith-based programming and managing the day-to-day liturgical needs of the organization.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, and deeply committed to enriching the spiritual development of our community across various diverse programs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Liturgical Planning & Coordination
  • Signature Liturgies: Support the planning of prominent liturgies during the IEI Summer (including the Pre-Commencement Grotto Mass, Commencement Mass, Pre-Missioning Grotto Mass, and Missioning Mass) to foster a shared sense of purpose and unity among different cohorts.
  • Athletic & Special Masses: Plan and coordinate Post-Game Masses during the Notre Dame football season (approximately 3-4 per season).
  • Chapel Management: Create and manage the comprehensive Chapel Schedule, including the assignment of Celebrants, Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, and Music Ministers.
  • Ministry Coordination: Plan regular masses and oversee the scheduling, recruitment, and training for Lectors and Eucharistic Ministers.
  • Unit Support: Plan and coordinate special masses and liturgies for IEI units that do not have a dedicated pastoral staff team member.

2. Institute Calendaring & Planning
  • Strategic Scheduling: Work with IEI leadership to set the calendar for standing meetings at least one semester in advance, and major events up to 1 year in advance.
  • Invitations & Communication: Manage the calendar invites and logistics for all IEI-wide liturgies.

3. Other Duties
  • Provide support to assist with special projects and emerging needs across the Institute as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree OR at least 3 years of equivalent professional experience.
  • Ministry & Planning: Demonstrated experience in ministry, spiritual direction, theology, or faith-based event planning.
  • Logistics & Organization: Strong organizational skills, particularly in managing complex schedules and coordinating volunteer ministers.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate across different programs and gather actionable feedback.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency with Google Suite applications, including advanced use of Google Calendar (scheduling), Sheets, Docs, Forms, and Drive.
  • Service-Oriented: A strong commitment to providing exemplary service to the Institute's community.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to safely lift up to 20 lbs.
