Job description

Overview
As a Survey Office Technician for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), in our Naperville, IL office or Schaumburg, IL, you will be part of a team performing work related to legal descriptions, boundary surveys, and statutory plats. You will perform or perform quality control for land survey work through the application of surveying principles and practices and the use of computers and software. You may also have the opportunity to be responsible for utilizing surveying software applications to gather, retrieve and interpret important data, and performing basic survey computations.
The posting range for this position is between $47,692 - $87,210 based on experience and location (in addition, CEC offers overtime pay and other great benefits).
Potential sign-on and relocation bonus, if applicable.
Qualifications
  • General understanding of real estate
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Excel
  • Valid Driver's License Required
  • Ability to drive to destinations within the 6 counties within IDOT District 1 (Cook, Lake, McHenry, Kane, DuPage and Will)
  • The candidate will be working under the direction of IDOT's Section Chief of Surveys and will be asked to:
    • Report daily to the IDOT District 1 office in Schaumburg, Illinois
    • Review legal descriptions for projects located within IDOT District 1
    • Review statutory plats for projects located within IDOT District 1
    • Perform various tasks relating to District 1 land survey division
