Lead Cable Technician – Richmond, VA

Location: Richmond VA | Travel Required
Pay: $20–$33/hr + OT
Travel: Per Diem + Mileage + Drive Time

Position

Anistar is seeking an experienced Lead Cable Technician to lead and perform structured cabling installations on commercial projects. This role involves installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting voice, data, fiber, and security/access control systems.

Travel is required. Overtime is available, and travel expenses are covered.

What You'll Do

  • Lead cable installation crews and work independently in the field
  • Pull, route, install, terminate, test, and label structured cabling
  • Install and terminate copper and fiber
  • Install racks, IDF/MDF equipment, and cable support systems
  • Perform Corning UniCam and/or Panduit OptiCam terminations
  • Troubleshoot network and POS systems
  • Work from lifts as needed
  • Maintain quality, safety, and production standards

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience leading commercial voice/data installations
  • Strong experience with both fiber and copper
  • Experience with structured cabling installation and termination
  • Corning UniCam or Panduit OptiCam experience
  • IDF/MDF and rack installation experience preferred
  • Fiber termination and testing experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Familiarity with BICSI, EIA/TIA, or NEC standards
  • Basic telecom hand tools required
  • Two professional references required
  • Must be willing to use your own vehicle for travel
