Trauma ICU Registered Nurse (RN) โ Level I Trauma Center
Location: Las Vegas, NV
Pay Range: $42.38 โ $65.69/hr. (Based on experience) + Benefits
Schedule: Full-Time
Sign-On Bonus: Up to $10,000
Additional Pay: 5% Critical Care Differential
Position Summary
The Trauma ICU Registered Nurse provides direct and individualized nursing care to acutely and critically ill patients in a highly technical intensive care environment.
Patients cared for in the Trauma ICU often require:
- Continuous monitoring
- Advanced medication protocols
- Critical drips and therapies
- Mechanical ventilation
- Trauma and burn care interventions
- Complex multidisciplinary care coordination
The ideal candidate is experienced in ICU nursing, demonstrates strong clinical judgment, and thrives in high-acuity patient care settings.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for critically ill Trauma ICU patients
- Monitor and assess patients with life-threatening conditions
- Administer medications, drips, blood products, and critical therapies
- Operate and monitor advanced ICU medical equipment
- Perform invasive nursing procedures within scope of practice
- Collaborate closely with physicians, trauma teams, and interdisciplinary staff
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
- Document patient care accurately and timely
- Advocate for patient safety, comfort, and quality outcomes
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and care progression
- Maintain compliance with hospital safety and infection control protocols
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program REQUIRED
- Minimum one (1) year current critical care experience REQUIRED
- Minimum two (2) years of recent ICU RN experience in a similar facility strongly preferred
Licensure & Certifications
- Active Nevada RN License REQUIRED
- BLS Certification REQUIRED at hire
- ACLS Certification REQUIRED at hire
- TNCC Certification required within 12 months of hire
- ABLS Certification required within 12 months of hire
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift, reposition, and transfer patients safely
- Ability to exert up to 100 lbs occasionally and 50 lbs frequently
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
