Position Summary: The Maintenance Supervisor supports the Operations and Maintenance Manager in overseeing the Individual Carrier System (ICS) and Passenger Boarding Bridge (PBB). Responsible for the operational and technical personnel duties while operating and maintaining the baggage handling system at JFK - Terminal One. This role leads daily operations, supervises personnel and subcontractors, ensures compliance with safety and site policies, and drives continuous improvement through training, performance management, and root cause analysis. By fostering a safe, efficient, and highquality work environment, the Supervisor ensures reliable service delivery and team development.

Essential Functions (Job Duties and Responsibilities):

  • Works under the direction of the Operations and Maintenance Manager to guide, support onsite personnel while working on the Individual Carrier System (ICS) and Passenger Boarding Bridge (PBB).

  • Supervises team performanceand daily operation activities, leads, and sets direction of the operational and maintenance team including subcontractors.

  • Participate in weekly, monthly, and quarterly meeting with Operations and Maintenance Manager, customers to review performance, as needed.

  • Responsible for the implementation and adherence of staff to our health and safety plan, training requirements and overall participation in the company health and safety program.

  • Improve capability and capacity of operations and maintenance personnel.

  • Train, and lead employee performance to ensure continuous improvement.

  • Ensure a safe work environment for employees and ensure that safe work practices are utilized.

  • Maintain, and enforce site specific policies and procedures including but not limited to: Communication plans, safety plans, contingency plans, attendance, quality control of craftsmanship, inventory management, training requirements, PLC code control (per TSA's PODS 4.2 guidelines).

  • Promote training initiatives

  • Train and follow standard operating procedures.

  • Conduct ongoing BHS Assessments, BHS failures and root cause analysis.

  • Promote Equipment and vicinity cleanliness and good housekeeping practices.

  • Work with Operation and Maintenance Manager to oversee and manage Employee data references regarding labor hours, response, WO completion, problem resolution, etc.

  • Set up, adjust, and maintain LMS parameters

  • Identifies recurring issues and elaborates ideas for improvement, i.e. the quality of work, performance of employees and cooperation with Operation and Maintenance Manager.

  • Distributes work, and monitors progress and quality.

  • Improve team performance which may lead to people's development.

  • Supervise and co-ordinate the management of third-party interests when undertaking specialist operations, maintenance, or repair activities on their shift.

  • Responsible for the contractors permit to work and sign offs

Required Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in the electro-mechanical field.

  • 2+ years of experience as a team leader/supervisor

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Valid Driver's license

  • Experience in industrial, commercial construction, or material handling/conveyor systems industries.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to attain and sustain an Airport I.D. Badge

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical education in Mechanical or Electrical fields (mid-level or higher preferred)

  • Experience supervising operations in airport or warehouse environments

  • Background in conveyor systems or material handling services

  • Knowledge of safety programs and certifications such as OSHA 30

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position.Schedule is driven by the needs of the operation. May be required to work nights and weekends.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

The work environment/physical requirements described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job and/or stepping in when needed: The Manager works in a secured baggage handling area, in repair stations, or on airfields. They often must meet strict deadlines to maintain flight schedules.

Workers frequently bend, stoop, and reach from ladders and scaffolds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee at times will lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. They will be lifting parts and tools for extended periods of time and handling equipment such as conveyor systems. They will identify and fix mechanical problems with machinery, and they commonly work with greasy parts and tools, sometimes in uncomfortable positions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is working with and exposed to the baggage handling system, mechanical parts and vibration. The environment can also be loud because of aircraft engines and equipment.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position, eligible to receive an hourly rate and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. The hourly rate listed represents the maximum and minimum starting base pay for this position as of the time of posting. Final hourly rate offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate-dependent.

Hourly rate:

$33.00 - $44.00
